Yu Liu
I am an illustrator interested in printmaking and children’s picturebooks. Non-fiction books and interactive books are my favorite genres. I like observing the surroundings and most of my works are based on life sketching around the city. I also enjoy experimenting visuals through various methods, especially in exploring subtle and lyrical images using collagraph. I am currently working on a picturebook about time and I would like to continue to develop touching and playful picturebooks in the future.
Tempus Fugit
Tempus Fugit is a science picturebook about time. The book is divided into five chapters to talk about the phenomenon of time, how we deal with time, what time is, how we perceive time and the connection between time and us. I started with visually collecting tracks of time by sketching around the city and gaining information about what time is by researching in physics and biology. Alongside with the studies, I experimented the visuals with collagraph and developed this book to illustrate the time.
ATTACK ON A BAKERY
