Yuchen Lu

History, classical Eastern and Western philosophy, and fictional stories are central interests of my paintings. I try to create new stories from the same images that have symbolized different meanings in different times. Then I try to combine different contexts and characters with these images and engaged them with my thematic thinking to reshow them in new scenes to evoke a reflection on the conflict of these symbolic meanings. The idea of objective idealism is an important thread that runs through the language and composition of my paintings.
