I am a graphic designer who for the past year has focused on editorial design. My work ONLY FOR HER is a magazine presenting my investigation into the unfair treatment faced by female athletes and their over-sexualization in the media. The magazine is a celebration of present-day successes and the historic achievement of female athletes. Taking a critical position on the media’s presentation of female athletic icons and commodification of female success. I have contextualized these ideas through a personal curation of academic papers, contemporary interviews, and news stories—connecting them to the wider issue of contemporary gender politics and gender equality.
