Christina Scott (She/Her)
Christina Scott’s paintings depict imagined women in spaces and environments that materialise vividly through the oil paint. The scenes are based on lived experience, secret histories and fairy tales that create a sense of enchantment and nostalgia. Her practice is entwined with collage which involves the collection and fusing together of images creating a visual language that is playful, metaphorical, and ambiguous. She wants to negate narratives of disenchantment by attempting to destabilise current perceptions of contemporary life and womanhood, offering alternative spaces that are imbued with magic.
